Associates - Henrietta Bond
Henrietta worked for more than 20 years in the voluntary and social care sector and also in the fields of media, training and communications, before becoming a coach. Henrietta set up Resourceful Coaching Associates to ensure that a wider range of individuals and organisations can access the benefits of coaching, in order to recognise and utilise their resources.
Henrietta graduated in Drama and English before deciding to enter the world of PR. After a stint of publicising commercial products she moved across to the statutory and voluntary sector. Whilst working for organisations such as Barnardo’s, NCH, Fostering Network, Child Accident Prevention Trust, Riverside NHS Trust, British Agencies for Adoption and Fostering and Action on Elder Abuse Henrietta developed a knowledge of social care policy and practice.
She has worked on several government-led projects such as the Department of Health National Recruitment Campaign for Foster Carers and the DFES/Ufi myguide project to promote the use of the internet in order to tackle social exclusion.
As a freelance journalist Henrietta has written for leading social care publications such as Guardian Society, Community Care and Care & Health. She is also the editor of several books on adoption and fostering.
Henrietta has represented many of her social care clients on national television and radio. She has used this experience to train organisations to get their best out of their relations with the media. She teaches other aspects of presentation and communications.
As a trained coach Henrietta draws on all aspects of her professional background, which she combines with her philosophy about the power of the human spirit. She says: ‘My personal experiences have shown me that life often isn’t easy and unless we learn how to identify what is truly valuable we will spend much of it regretting what we could have had - rather than recognising what is available to us. Coaching has taught me that people have the ability to be incredibly resourceful.’
